How the Decision Wheel Works
The decision wheel (or wheel of fortune) is a classic tool for making choices randomly. You can input any list of options – from simple "Yes/No" to complex choices like restaurants, movies, or vacation destinations. The wheel spins with realistic rotation and lands on a random segment. This removes bias and helps you decide when you're undecided. Our wheel uses canvas drawing and a random rotation angle with momentum simulation. Each segment is equally likely. The color coding makes it visually appealing.
How to use: Enter your options in the text area (comma separated). Click "Update & Redraw" to see your custom wheel. Then click "SPIN!" – the wheel will rotate several full turns and stop at a random segment. The result is displayed below. Use preset buttons for quick examples. You can add up to 20 options (the canvas will adjust font sizes automatically). The animation includes confetti on every spin.
Use cases: deciding where to eat, what game to play, daily chores, or settling friendly arguments. For even more fun, add silly options like "Dance", "Sing", or "Treat yourself". The probability of any option is 1/n, where n is the number of options. Try with 10 options for a true challenge! Our wheel algorithm ensures true randomness by using `crypto.getRandomValues` for the final stop angle.
Fun fact: The first wheel of fortune game appeared in the 1970s. Our digital version respects the same principle – a random spin gives each slice an equal chance.
